A Very Random Call That Made My Day

I was sitting at my desk at work today when I received a call from a number I didn’t recognise.

Me: “Hello!”

Caller; “Oh hi, is Anthony there please?”

Me: “There’s no Anthony here.”

Caller: “Oh, I probably dialled the wrong number.”

Thinking that my pastor’s name is Anthony, I asked, “Which Anthony did you want?”

Caller: “The manager at the loading docks…”

Me: “Ah, no. I’m out in the sticks. Sorry.”

Caller: “Well, you sound nice, anyway.”

Me: “Nawwww, shucks.”

Caller: “Thanks, I might call back if I ever need someone to be nice to me.”

Me: “Haha, no problem. Have a good day!”

Caller: “See? You’re just nice. Bye!”

Thanks, Blake. We needed a laugh.

This morning my bestie got a text that had obviously been sent to the wrong number. It read, “Oi man it’s Blake”.
Because we were both sleep deprived and still dealing with the stresses of a very intense day yesterday, we thought it would be fun to respond with “hey man, I’m heading to the gym. Meet me there in 30.”
Laughter ensued.

About ten minutes ago, Blake called and she answered, telling him he had the wrong number.
I can’t repeat the text he sent after hanging up, but we laughed a lot.

Moral to the story: don’t text your mates when partly asleep and possibly hung over unless you are sure you have the right number. Your memory may not be as good as you think it is.
